Shaun Brownlow & Luke Riley Triumphant in Cadet Foursomes Championship

Shaun Brownlow and Luke Riley (pictured below at top) have won the 2010 Cadet Foursomes Championship. James Hancock and Tom Riley (pictured 2nd below) were the nett champions. All cadets played some great golf over the two rounds, and each participant were champions in their own right.

Shaun Brownlow & Luke Atherton take out Cadets/Sub-Junior Titles

Shaun Brownlow is the 2010 Sub-Junior club champion with Luke Riley runner-up three shots behind on 109. Harry Egan took the nett title with James Hancock runner up.

In the Cadets, Luke Atherton is champion, with Christian Boweyer second, Kelly Densem third, Brad Smith fourth, Kailen Harris fifth and sixth went to Mat Guyatt.

James Hancock Wins a Wet & Windy 2010 Junior Classic

Junior golfer James Hancock has taken out the 2010 Junior Classic by one shot over Declan Drake. Declan claimed the runner-up spot after he squeezed past Luke Riley on a countback.

In the first 9 holes of the Cadets Championship, young Harry Egan finished with gross 52, followed by Luke Riley on 53. Declan Drake closed with a best score nett 32 and James Hancock was runner-up with 36.5. Luke also won both nearest the pins!

The Cadets Stableford round saw Luke Atherton win with 21 points, with Kelly Densem on 19, Brad Smith on 17, Christian Bower 15 and Riley Catanzariti rounding out the top 5 with 13 points.

The final will be played on 30 May.

April Clinic a Great Success

Everyone agreed that our first 3-day clinic for the year, held 13-15 April, was a resounding success. Jason Hart and Geoff Leonard led a combined Cadet and Junior squad throughout the three days.

Thanks must also go to Judy Swanson for her unwavering support of the TLGC Junior Development Program.

Juniors Win Encourage Shield

Our strong Juniors squad has taken out this year's Encourage Shield competition, held at Everglades on 25 January. The team members were George Crowder, Jack Ray, Rhys Pye, Ben Saunders, Zac Proctor, Ben Woodham & Sam Rochester, with Tony White as manager. For a team that was rushed together two weeks prior to their first match and none of them playing matchplay before they have certainly done our club proud. Tony said they were all exceptionally well behaved and played their matches in the right spirit. With this win they now go on to play in Sydney towards the end of this year in the State finals knockout. Results are here.

Welcome Juniors

Welcome to all our budding Greg Normans. The website is strictly juniors only, and has been designed to cater to all Cadets, Sub-Juniors and Juniors here at Tuggerah Lakes Golf Club.

Take a moment to browse through the website. You'll find event schedules, news and weekly scores, a picture gallery where you can check out your own swing, and information about the TLGC Junior Development Program. Also available is a forum where you can chat to friends, offer suggestions, or even ask one of the club's PGA professionals to provide a tip or two.

Coaching Staff

No one's doing a better job at coaching our juniors than Peter Cliff. Peter is a very popular assistant pro and AAA rated golf professional, and has been an integral part of the club since his arrival in 2006. Peter has a growing reputation as one of the leading lights in golf instruction.

Peter has a wealth of experience and has been playing golf since 1984. He was a member of the PGA Tour of Australasia from 1994 - 2002 and won 35 Pro-Am events during a stellar career. Read more...

The cadets enjoyed a terrific 3 days of coaching and golf and were very lucky with the weather, 18 cadets participated in the 3 days and our thanks go to Peter and Ben for their time over the 3 days and to Loralie and Sharyn for organising the food for the players.

If the scores are indicative of the coaching it proved to be a very successful 3 days.

Everyone received a Certificate of Achievement. The Most Improved award went to Christian Bowyer; the Most Consistent to James Hancock, while Scott Hekking and Lindsey Tanner took out Encouragement Awards.

Encourage Shield Team Receive New Uniforms
